20 Peel Street, Adelaide
Adding yet another small but upmarket establishment to the booming Peel Street, Chihuahua Bar opening in late-2013. After a short hiatus, July 2014 saw the bar relaunch, giving it great buzz around the small bar scene that made neighbouring venue Clever Little Tailor a success.
Taking a page from the trending Mexican-themed bars that have popped up around the CBD over the past couple of years, Chihuahua puts a more fresh approach to the tattered style of Tijuana Showgirls, and brings you the tastes of northern and coastal South America. The decor is more polished, but still maintains that intimate appeal you would want from a venue this size.
Chihuahua Bar’s impressive list of street food and bar eats are complimented by Mexican-inspired cocktails and South American wines. Tequila is a given (of course!), but the laneway bar puts a greater emphasis on the lesser known Mezcal spirit, which you will find has made its way to several of Chihuahua’s specialty cocktails.
